Accessibility
The Wales Centre for Pharmacy Professional Education (WCPPE) is committed to making the information and resources that it provides via the WCPPEonline website accessible to all users. We aim to be standards compliant and follow general principles of usability and universal design, which should help all users of this website.
By using techniques to help users of assistive and adaptive technologies, we have provided one version of the site which everyone should be able to use.
WCPPE intends to meet at least level 2 (AA) of the W3C's Website Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Guidelines, and as far as possible to meet level 3 (AAA). For more information about the WAI Guidelines see: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.
Through taking this approach we hope to make our site as inclusive as possible and to comply with UK legislation including the Disability Discrimination Act (1995) as amended by the Special Education Needs and Disability Act (2001), which states that it is an offence to discriminate against a disabled person by treating them less favourably than others for a reason relating to their disability.
Discrimination can also occur where an institution fails to make a 'reasonable adjustment' when the disabled person is placed at a 'substantial disadvantage' in comparison with someone who is not disabled and such failure cannot be 'justified'. Similarly, the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Code of Practice about disabled students states that universities should consider disabled students in every aspect of planning and administration of academic and social activities.

Some users might find screen text easier to read by adjusting the size at which text is displayed. To do this, you can adjust your browser's settings.
For Microsoft Internet Explorer* - go to the View menu and select Text Size. You can also use your keyboard to adjust the text size. Hold ‘Ctrl’ + ‘+’ to increase or ‘Ctrl’ + ‘-’ to decrease. Hold ‘Ctrl’ + ‘0’ to return the text size to the default size.
Changing screen colours
Changing the site background colour can be particularly useful for some users.
For Microsoft Internet Explorer* - go to the Tools menu, select Internet Options, select Colors and make changes to text and background colours in the Colors panel.
*We have only given examples of how to change text size and colour for one browser, Microsoft Internet Explorer. For information on other browsers, such as Firefox, Google Chrome, Netscape and Opera, and for more help on accessibility, go to the BBC website My Web My Way.
