WCPPE logo The Welsh Centre for Pharmacy Professional Education (WCPPE) offers a comprehensive range of educational opportunities that supports service development and provides continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for the pharmacy team in Wales in accordance with an annual commission from the Welsh Assembly Government.

The WCPPE is an operational unit of the Welsh School of Pharmacy, Cardiff University, with a mission:

To motivate and support the pharmacy family, through the provision of learning and development opportunities, to enhance their competence to deliver high quality patient services in Wales

The WCPPE portfolio is open to all registered pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and support staff living or providing NHS pharmacy services in Wales.

The programme of educational and CPD opportunities consists of face to face courses and events, a range of open learning and e-learning resources. The programme of live events is delivered across Wales.

The WCPPE robustly supports work-based training for the pharmacy team through an accredited NVQ Centre with City and Guilds. Through this it provides support for pharmacy technical staff training at NVQ level at a range of pharmacy sites across Wales. In addition, the WCPPE delivers residential courses for pharmacy pre-registration graduates during their post graduation training year and provides support for the development of the tutors’ roles.
