Asthma MUR guide amendment

It has come to our attention that there is an error within in the recently published asthma MUR guide. The current guide states:

  • Check that patient has had an annual influenza vaccination and pneumococcal vaccination (if they have asthma that requires continuous or repeated use of inhaled or systemic steroids or with previous exacerbations requiring hospital admission)

We have amended the guide to read the following:

  • Check that patient has had an annual influenza vaccination (if they require continuous or repeated use of inhaled or systemic steroids or have had previous exacerbations requiring hospital admission)
  • Check that patient has had a pneumococcal vaccination (if they have used oral steroids for more than one month, at an equivalent dosage of 20mg prednisolone or more per day)

We have republished this guide on our website:  MUR Guides

We would like to apologise for this error and for any confusion it may have caused.
