During 2016-17 pre-registration year, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board ran a multi-sector training programme for pre-registration pharmacists for the very first time. This programme included the pre-registration trainees spending time in community, hospital and primary care. The programme was evaluated and you can find the summary report below as well as a video of the six trainees sharing their experiences of the multi-sector pre-registration year. There is also a link to the full report should you wish to read it.
You may have heard this programme being referred to as Integrated Pre-registration Programme however due to the confusion surrounding this and Integrated MPharm it is now referred to as Multi-sector Pre-registration Programme.
There is further evaluation currently underway following up the six that undertook the programme as well as their new line managers.
The multi-sector programme has now expanded to two other Health Board. For the 2017-18 pre-registration year, Cwm Taf University Health Board have four multi-sector pre-registration trainees, Hywel Dda University Health Board have two multi-sector pre-registration trainees and Betsi Cadwaladr have continued with six multi-sector pre-registration trainees.
Later in the year there will be evaluation of the current twelve trainees undertaking the various multi-sector programmes.
