Clinical Community Pharmacy Service (CCPS) Update: Bridging and QuickStart contraception and Pharmacist Independent Prescriber Service (PIPS) Summary

Presgripsiwn Newydd – A New Prescription: The future of community pharmacy in Wales detail new arrangements for community pharmacies which provide for a “greater range of clinically focused services” being available from every pharmacy in Wales. In February 2018, Public Health Wales carried out a review of sexual health in Wales and findings indicated that “oral regular contraception should be available through an enhanced service within all community pharmacies”. The recommendations from this report are endorsed by Welsh Government as it is felt community pharmacies have a vital role in offering sexual health services. Following a successful pilot, bridging contraception and quick start contraception services delivered by accredited pharmacists will soon be launched across Wales and will be included in CCPS from April 2023. Join us on this webinar to find out all about this change, what it means to you and your patients and a summary of the PIPS.
