Description

Overview

This eLearning programme covers the most common diagnostic tests and biochemistry results used in practice.

The programme is split into three sections:

  1. Full blood count, inflammatory markers and coagulation
  2. Chronic disease markers, urea & electrolytes and liver function tests
  3. Thyroid function tests, bone function tests and therapeutic drug monitoring

After completing this eLearning package, you should be able to:

  • Explain the importance of laboratory testing in diagnostics and patient monitoring
  • Demonstrate understanding of the theoretical basis of and varied approach to investigation and monitoring of interventions
  • Advise on the appropriate treatment of patients with abnormal tests results
  • Recognise the drugs that require therapeutic drug monitoring
