Overview
This learning programme has been designed to raise the awareness of meningitis with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians involved in advising the public. The aim is to provide a brief update on the management and prevention of meningitis and appropriate advice to minimise the further spread of this disease.

By the end of this module, participants should be able to:
- Describe the symptoms, complications and management of meningitis;
- Identify the routes of transmission for all types of meningitis;
- Understand the meningitis vaccination programme;
- Understand the role of a pharmacist in detecting and supporting patients with meningitis.
