Pharmacy professionals in community pharmacy have given advice over the phone for many years. However, with the onset of COVID-19 many more consultations and services are now being delivered remotely. To enhance this further the NHS Wales Video Consulting Service is being rolled out to all community pharmacies during the Autumn of 2020.
Are you confident in your remote consultation skills? Do you know where to pay special attention when you cannot see the patient? Have you thought through how to structure a safe consultation remotely? What cues not to miss? When to consider safeguarding issues? Do you know how to use the technology?
Lloyd Hambridge is the South East Wales Regional Pharmacist Lead for NHS 111 Wales and a Welsh Clinical Leadership Fellow who has much experience in delivering consultations remotely. Join him for a live webinar to have your questions answered, receive hints and tips from an experienced practitioner, and have an opportunity to discuss services and scenarios specific to community pharmacy.
After the event, participants will be able to:
- Use the NHS video consulting service software
- Understand the structure of an effective remote consultation
- Identify and avoid pitfalls in delivering services remotely
- Develop an awareness of how to manage safeguarding issues remotely
- Enhance the soft skills necessary for an effective remote consultation
