Overview
This training programme has been developed in order to increase the knowledge of pharmacy professionals on the appropriate use, misuse and adverse effects of benzodiazepines.
Learning Objectives
After completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Outline the clinical indications for the benzodiazepines
- Understand the risks associated with long-term use of benzodiazepines including interactions, side effects and misuse
- Understand the risks associated with long-term use of the z-drugs and their place in therapy
- Describe appropriate services, treatment interventions and care pathways which support people who have become dependent on benzodiazepines
