Haint Clostridioides difficile: diweddariad / Clostridioides difficile infection: an update
(scroll down for English)

Trosolwg:

Mae Clostridioides difficile (a elwir hefyd yn C. difficile neu C. diff) yn facteria a all heintio'r coluddyn ac achosi dolur rhydd difrifol a cholitis.

Mae’n effeithio’n fwyaf cyffredin ar bobl sydd wedi cael eu trin yn flaenorol â gwrthfiotigau a gall ledaenu’n hawdd i eraill. Gall haint C.difficile fod yn bresennol gyda symptomau ysgafn ond gall hefyd arwain i glefyd mwy difrifol yn y coluddion, ac mewn rhai achosion gall fod yn fygythiad bywyd.  Mae haint C.difficile sydd wedi'i gadarnhau, fel arfer, yn gofyn am driniaeth â chwrs o wrthfiotigau.

Amlinellir y strategaeth rhagnodi gwrthficrobaidd ar gyfer rheoli haint Clostridioides difficile mewn lleoliadau cymunedol ac ysbytai yng nghanllawiau NICE. Y nod yw gwneud y defnydd gorau o wrthfiotigau a lleihau ymwrthedd i wrthfiotigau a chyfraddau ailadrodd haint C. difficile. . Ymunwch â ni ar y weminar hon i ddeall mwy am haint C. difficile a sut y gall y canllawiau gefnogi eich rolau wrth ddarparu gofal i'ch cleifion.

Overview:

Clostridioides difficile (known also as C. difficile or C. diff) is a bacteria that can infect the bowel and cause severe diarrhoea and colitis.

It most commonly affects people who have previously been treated with antibiotics and it can spread easily to others. C. difficile infection can present with mild symptoms but can lead to a more severe disease of the intestines, and in some cases can become life threatening.  Confirmed C. difficile infection, usually, requires treatment with a course of antibiotics.

The antimicrobial prescribing strategy for managing Clostridioides difficile infection in community and hospital settings is outlined in the NICE guidance. The aim is to optimise antibiotic use and reduce antibiotic resistance and C. difficile infection recurrence rates. Join us on this webinar to understand more about C. difficile infection and how the guidelines can support your role in providing care to your patients.
