Menopos / Menopause
(please scroll down for English)

Trosolwg:

Mae effaith y menopos ar unigolion yn amrywio. Yr oedran cyfartalog ar gyfer y menopos yn y DU yw 51, ond gall hyn amrywio’n fawr yn dibynnu ar ffordd o fyw ac ethnigrwydd. Mae’r menopos cynamserol hefyd yn effeithio ar tua 1 ym mhob 100. Mae’r nifer o unigolion yr effeithir arnynt a pharhad y symptomau menoposaidd a brofir felly’n sylweddol.

Gall symptomau bara ychydig fisoedd neu flynyddoedd lawer ac mae hyd at 80% (amcangyfrifir bod 1.5 miliwn) yn profi symptomau corfforol ac emosiynol yn ystod y cyfnod hwn. Felly, mae rhoi cynhaliaeth i’r grŵp hwn o gleifion yn rhan bwysig o’n rolau fel gweithwyr gofal iechyd proffesiynol. Un her yw’r ffaith bod gwybodaeth wedi bod yn ddryslyd ac anghyson, gan adael llawer o gleifion yn ansicr ynglŷn â’r opsiynau sydd ar gael iddynt.

Mae therapi adfer hormonau (HRT) yn un driniaeth a ddefnyddir i leddfu symptomau’r menopos. Mae llawer o ansicrwydd wedi bod ymhlith gweithwyr gofal iechyd proffesiynol gyda golwg ar HRT ac opsiynau amgen i driniaeth. Ymunwch â ni ar gyfer y weminar amlddisgyblaethol hon lle byddwn yn edrych ar y cefndir, yr opsiynau triniaeth ar sail tystiolaeth a dewisiadau amgen i HRT, fel y gallwn roi cynhaliaeth ehangach i’n cleifion.

Deilliannau dysgu:

Ar ôl mynychu’r digwyddiad hwn, bydd cyfranogwyr yn gallu:

  • Nodi sut i wneud diagnosis o’r perimenopos a’r menopos / gwneud penderfyniadau priodol ynglŷn â phrofion gwaed.
  • Diffinio symptomau cyffredin y menopos a’u heffeithiau.
  • Cydnabod pwysigrwydd darparu triniaeth ar sail tystiolaeth i helpu unigolion i gadw symptomau’r menopos dan reolaeth.
  • Trafod risgiau a manteision HRT.
  • Amlinellu ymchwil cyfredol a’r risgiau sy’n gysylltiedig â HRT modern o ran y menopos, gan gynnwys canser y fron.
  • Amlinellu dewisiadau amgen effeithiol i HRT.
  • Disgrifio rôl testosteron yn ystod y cyfnod trosiannol ac ôl-menopos.

Gweithwyr fferyllol proffesiynol a meddygon teulu sy’n ysgwyddo rolau yng ngŵydd cleifion. Mae croeso i rolau eraill ymuno er gwybodaeth.

Overview:

Menopause affects individuals differently. The average age for menopause in the UK is 51 however this can vary widely depending on lifestyle and ethnicity. Premature menopause also affects around 1 in 100. The number of individuals and the duration they experience menopausal symptoms for is therefore significant.

Symptoms can last from a few months to several years and up to 80% (an estimated 1.5million) experience physical and/or emotional symptoms during this time. Supporting this group of patients is therefore an important part of our roles as healthcare professionals. One challenge is that information has been confusing and contradictory leaving many patients unclear about what options they have.

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is one treatment used to relieve symptoms of the menopause. There has been much uncertainty amongst healthcare professionals around HRT and alternatives to treatment. Join us on this multidisciplinary webinar where we will look at the background, evidence-based treatment options and alternatives to HRT, so that we can support our patients further.
